Kinoton FP38 water cooling

Hello,
Can I ask for advice. I would like to run a 3K lamp on a Kinoton FP38-EC which does not have a water cooled gate, does this sound sensible

With a Kinoton lamphouse, the 35mm portion is absolutely fine. For 16mm, you are concentrating a lot of energy in a very small area. It can certainly be done but I'd proceed with caution. Also, you should expect the light efficiency of 16mm to be notably lower as your arc size compared to the aperture is significant (Etendue).

Thank you Steve for the advice. I will only be running 35mm and it will be interesting to see the difference from the 2K I presently have installed.

Be sure to use a short arc, like a UXL-30SC (Ushio).
