I've had a look around some of the internet sources and it seems there were a reasonable number of installations which used the Optiverter system. They are associated with new-build cinemas from around 1970. One particular twin cinema used conventional dual projection in their large auditorium and an Optiverter in the smaller one.

Here are a couple of pictures of an original Trans-Lux RP lens - offered for sale on that auction site some years ago. (No idea what the collar was meant to do). Some original Trans-Lux documentation stated that the typical throw ratio was about 1:1. Another of their patents shows a lens mount with adjustable sideways shift so that both images could be exactly superimposed, and the keystone eliminated.

And here is one of the rear projection system of the former Times Newsreel Theatre, here in Melbourne, Australia.

The cinema was in a basement, and the projection room was another level below, with a steep upwards rake. This shot was taken well after closure and the dust is a consequence of the redevelopment works in the building above. Some documentation on site showed that they originally had a genuine Trans-Lux screen.
