35mm Projection with a washed out image. Main contributing factor?

    That's alright...people pick digital cinema too, over film, even if it has less detail in it. It gets you those crisp lines but less detail.

      FWIW, about a year ago, I switched my flat lens at home from a Scheider Super Cinelux to an Isco red. The difference was pretty unbelievable, much better contrast and razor sharp focus by comparison.

        perhaps the most important question is: how long where the lenses sitting in a shelf or hadn´t been used.

        I´ve had a problem this year when moisture was relatively high and so after a few minutes of projecting, the image fades to "foggy" just a tiny bit. Stopped the machine, disassembeled the lens, cleaned it, packed it together (grund lens and the scope attachment) and everything went fine for the next 10 Days of projecting film.
