Yes, sir, I am counting on a refurbished machine. I don't need Win11 and I don't use Premiere (just After Effects).

you could just swap the MB+Proc+Cooler+Ram to maybe save a little.

I think the motherboard is what died. Since I became disabled, I haven't had the wherewithal to troubleshoot much, and I can't afford to throw parts at it, either. So just getting a newer machine made better sense considering my current situation.
