I arrived in Telluride CO to work the film festival at the end of August. The auditorium that had been
underwater had undergone a remarkable recovery. I was told that a professional disaster remediation
team was brought in and they worked long and hard hours to get the auditorium & the school building
that had been flooded dried out and open to the public. The only thing that was still undone was that
none of the carpets had been replaced, so that the floors were all bare. Up until 48hrs before the first
night of the film-fest, several people were still saying that the carpets would be installed by opening
night- - but that didn't happen.
One of the things that amazed me is that there wasn't a hint of any kind of a damp or musty odor
anywhere in the building, which I expected there might be after such a flood. Because of the town's
elevation (almost 9,000ft ASL) the air is very dry, which might have helped 'suck' the moisture out
of things. Compare these pix with ones from the original post a few weeks ago
More than 3/4 of these seats were underwater The first 2 or 3 rows were completely submerged

Some of the side-walls were damaged and had been removed, exposing the cinder-block bricks behind
them, A staging company came in and hung heavy drapes along the side walls to control the reverberation.
(FYI: This venue actually has two booths. There's a spotlight booth on a level above the projection room)
PF_2.jpg
The water level high enough to cover the stage. Fortunately, the screen, masking and speaker system are
on a frame that was 'flown' up into the scenery loft when the flood happened, so they remained undamaged.

The seats in the small 'loge' area did not get wet and were not replaced. But a you can see here, there are no
carpets on the floors. The Dolbyguys EQ'd the room the best they could without any carpets. This room has
always had excellent acoustics, and as far as I know there were no complaints about the sound this year.
PF_6.jpg
The lobby looked pretty bare without carpeting and some of the the other ornemental acoutrements that are usually there.
PF_10.jpg
There was a dumpster full of old seats & waterlogged debris behind the building
PF_7.jpg
The parking lot behind the building was still partly covered with mud from the mountain.
