Assuming that you mean a DCP2000, Dolby no longer offer a recertification service for the Dolphin card, so I'm afraid that your only option now is to try and find a used but functional one from Ebay and/or a dealer that offers used digital cinema equipment.
This is why I now recommend to customers with EOS media blocks that unless they are prepared to take the risk of a battery swapout failing and having to replace the entire server/media block combo to get the screen back up, the projector and/or server be left powered on 24/7 for the remaining life of the media block rather than a battery swapout attempted. That also prolongs the service life of a Series 2 ICP. The same rationale applies to older media blocks that have a built-in rechargeable battery rather than one that is one-time and replaceable (e.g. Dolby cat862 or Doremi IMS1000): as those batteries age, their ability to hold a charge deteriorates, and the risk of leaving them unpowered for a significant time increases.
The exception to that is the Barco ICMP/ICMP+/ICMP-X, where the certificate is maintained by the battery at all times (in other words, the time the projector is left powered on does not affect the battery life), and for which Barco does not offer a recertification service unless the unit is in warranty. So replacing them on schedule is a risk that has to be taken.Last edited by Leo Enticknap; 01-18-2026, 10:45 AM.Comment
