AFAIK, it's still impossible to have BlackMagic Resolve, which is used for 99% of color grading processes, output XYZ directly, so the output is RGB:4:4:4, but everything has been calibrated for that.
We've since abandoned the HD-SDI route and switched over to BlackMagic HDMI interfaces inside the color grading machine. We used to run HD-SDI through a Teranex into HDMI, but have since abandoned that route: Less conversion is less possibilities for error. And while I'm not really happy with this "prosumer" stuff being used for production, you have to adapt to the reality of the situation.
