QDS 10.4.1 is here and 9.13.2 LTS isn't far behind (it is mentioned in the 10.4.1 release notes. While I continue to recommend 9.13.x LTS, as time moves on and newer equipment (e.g. Cores) replace the old, moving to a 10x (or later) version will be required. 9.13.2 LTS will, once again, offer a touchscreen to the 9.13 environment (currently made TSCs have some new hardware not supported in 9.13 and below. 9.13.2 will support the TSC-70-G3, once again.

It is interesting (to me, at least) that if one wants to downgrade to 9.13.2 from 10.4.1, you have to step through 9.13.1, first. The upcoming change to the Core 24f with the updated audio board will require 10.4.1 or later.

I've updated the Eprad eCNA plugin to version 1.3.0. The key feature on this version is the addition for support of the Eprad nanoHost. The nanoHost can take in a POS schedule in BLODE format and then generate show information, including ticket sales, by show, to allow for optimizing lamp life (only turn the lamp/laser on when there are actual people in the theatre). Additionally, you can have the eCNA power up/down the individual theatres based on the actual show schedule rather than by a fixed hour. With ticket sale information, one could also shut down a theatre if no tickets were sold for the last show. Tracking when the last show's feature starts can avoid prematurely shutting the theatre down.

Combined with server plugins, particularly ones that have a "Transfer" status, one could combine plugins to ensure that when content is transferring, that a server would not be shut down until all content has finished transferring.

These sorts of plugins, for cinema, demonstrate how Q-SYS is more than just a DSP sound system. It can provide much more extensive automation control, including when augmented with conventional cinema automations like the eCNA or JNIOR.

Again, I'm putting this plugin on my github:

FYI...the eCNA plugin (as well as the DSS Server one) are also now on the Q-SYS Communities Exchange Page (you do need to be a registered user to sign in):

The Exchange page is the "official" place for posting Q-SYS plugins and where one should go to see if there might be a script/plugin//user component that is not in Asset Manager (QDS 9.x and below) or Library Manager (QDS 10+). As of this writing, there are 23-plages on the Exchange with up to 9 components each. In general, these are supposed to be open-source and publicly hosted (Github or Bitbucket) though I've seen some that are encrypted (qplugx) too. The idea behind the page was to be a bit more open though with an exchange of ideas and samples more so than for commercial gain.

QDS 9.13.2 LTS has finally arrived. I have no doubt (unless it starts causing problems), this will be my newest preferred (presuming the Core I'm using runs on it) QDS version. Key things include putting the current-production TSC-50-G3 and TSC-70-G3 back on the usable list (there was a hardware change last fall that needed one of the QDS 10 versions to in order to work with them.

Keep QDS 9.13.1 LTS around since it is a required step if you are DOWNGRADING from a version 10 QDS before landing at 9.13.2 LTS.

Note: Before upgrading your system, review the Q-SYS Designer Software Compatibility section.

          Resolved Known Issues
          • Amplifier: Resolved an issue where a Q-SYS Amplifier channel gain set to a value other than 0 dB would revert to 0 dB after the amplifier was taken out of standby, even though the gain control continued to display the previously set value.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where autosaved Debug Output files contain extra Hex that isn't in the script's Debug Output.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where the UCI across all TSC-G2 models could take 5 minutes or longer to load after updating designs from Q-SYS Designer Software version 9.4.8 to 9.13.1.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where button icons on TSC‑101‑G3 and TSC‑70‑G3 touchscreens would intermittently fail to load and instead display a swirling loading indicator after design deployment or panel reboot.
          • Control:Resolved an issue where button legend text set dynamically via Text Controller scripting was cut off on TSC touchscreens and Windows UCI Viewer.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where UCI button images and icons did not consistently render on TSC-G3 controllers.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where updating the icon image on a UCI LED control via the IconData style property would display the previously assigned image instead of the newly set image.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where the NC-110 camera preview is not displayed properly on the TSC-50-G3 when in portrait orientation.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where commenting out a property in a UCI Style definition (e.g., within a meter:value(1) selector) would cause the HTML UCI to freeze and repeatedly generate a "UCI Viewer Drawing Exception" error in the browser console. The UCI would not respond to touch or click actions when viewed in Core Manager.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where Core 5200 processors in a redundant pair could randomly crash after several days of operation, becoming unreachable in Core Manager.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where hidden toggle buttons in the HTML UCI remained present in the flexbox layout and could still be interacted with despite being visually hidden.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where UCI variables named with a lowercase "v" (e.g., var_1) instead of the default uppercase "V" (e.g., Var_1), caused UCIs to become unresponsive on a Windows-based UCI Viewer and touch panels.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where the HTML5 UCI viewer, Core Manager, and Reflect would freeze at the "loading Resources" state when a text box using a CSS-referenced font was too narrow for vertical text rendering.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where non-ASCII characters rendered via an SVG text element in a plugin or script did not display correctly in Core Manager and Reflect.
          • Control: Resolved an issue where SVG animation plugins did not render correctly in the HTML5 UCI viewer (Core Manager), despite displaying properly in Designer and on touch screen controllers.

There were so many fixes, I had to break this into two parts. Part 2:
            • Control: Resolved performance issues with the Room Control UCI, related to sluggishness caused by pop-ups and complex layers.
            • Control: Resolved an issue where button legend text set dynamically via Text Controller scripting was cut off on TSC touchscreens and Windows UCI Viewer.
            • Endpoints:Resolved an issue where NM-T1 peripherals reported a grandmaster clock mismatch despite having the correct grandmaster.
            • Endpoints:Resolved an issue where learned IR commands were not retained when an “IR Receiver” component was copied and pasted within a design or between designs in Q-SYS Designer, forcing users to relearn IR commands for each new instance of the device, in their design.
            • Endpoints:Resolved issue where audio routed to output 2 and NV-32-H would also play through output 1 on the first playback after a design restart or core reboot.
            • Endpoints:Resolved an issue where an NV-32-H configured as a Decoder in HDMI 1 + HDMI 2 output mode with MediaCast In assigned to HDMI Output 1 could experience repeated HDCP reauthentication, causing the video feed to drop to a black screen.
            • Endpoints:Resolved a vulnerability where Telnet access on LCQLN peripherals could be enabled or disabled without authentication. Telnet has been disabled on LCQLN peripherals in this release; the configuration URL remains accessible, but Telnet can no longer be enabled from it.
            • Endpoints:Resolved an issue where USB bridging peripherals were not detected on the host PC when a laptop was connected to the NV-21 via USB-C.
            • Endpoints:Resolved an issue where the NV-21 failed to present video from a laptop connected via USB-C.
            • Endpoints:Resolved an issue where the Peripheral Status component erroneously displayed the "Reset Details" button when the Verbose property was set to No.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where the Jump to Source label in the Find menu did not navigate to the source linked control when clicking on a linked UCI element.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where Dante audio channels on CDN64 cards could spontaneously unsubscribe after extended system runtime.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue causing a Core to crash over its redundant standby when updating PA Zone Tags in Q-SYS Administrator.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where a Core could run out of TCP memory due to repeated failed connection attempts to Reflect, eventually causing a loss of network connectivity.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue that caused Designer to crash when zooming in/out with CTRL+ mouse wheel on a pop-up window.
            • Platform: Resolved multiple important issues related to security.
            • Platform: Security update to the UCI Viewer.
            • Platform: Resolved an SSL/TLS issue that required a reboot of Core to recover.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where the RSA Key Size displayed on the Generate CSR page could be incorrect after installing a certificate.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where a Core connected to Reflect could exhaust Core resources and lead to a crash.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where the multicast address configured on an Atmos RX component did not persist across Core reboots or design re-deployments, causing the Multicast Address field to be blank and require re-entry after restart.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where configured command buttons did not appear in the Revert To drop-down for Virtual Page Stations (VPS) and PS-TSCG3 paging stations, causing the list to show only no Command even when command buttons were configured.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where Administrator only displayed command buttons A–H for PS-TSCG3 paging stations, even when the station was configured for additional command buttons, preventing assignment of commands to buttons I–Z.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where using "Find" on a UCI control with an orphaned link (whose source control had been deleted from the schematic) would cause Designer to crash.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where Q-SYS Designer performed poorly on high refresh rate monitors, greater than 60Hz, causing sluggish meter updates and slow response when interacting with interface objects.
            • Platform: Resolved issue where UCI viewers using port 1700 will not connect on Core AUX ports, blocking users from using UCI Viewer on AUX networks.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where the "Reset Details" button on the Peripheral Status component was only present when the peripheral had an output stream, preventing input-only peripherals from resetting their stream details.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where cores could become unresponsive during prolonged WAN streaming sessions.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where an unused kernel module was unnecessarily included in the OS image.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where the NV-21H Decoder exhibited elevated CPU usage during video streaming.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where a Core could momentarily unlock and send an unnecessary PTP Announce message when the external GrandMaster updated its clock variance.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where the Core 8 Flex could lose GPS clock synchronization under certain GPIO signal conditions.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where the Core-110f could experience repeated clock sync faults when using a GPIO external clock with a peripheral in the design.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where logging into Administrator with Access Control enabled on a design containing a PA component could cause all Command Schedule entries to be deleted.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where disabling the performance data collection option in Q-SYS Designer preferences did not persist between application launches.
            • Platform: Resolved an issue where the TSC-70-G3 did not support the replacement Innolux 7.0" display module.
            • Video: An issue where two NV-21 decoders experienced an internal audio stream error has been resolved.
            • Video: Resolved an issue where IO-USB Bridge could introduce packet loss, image distortion, and approximately 2 seconds of video lag when bridging MJPEG video from NC cameras in UC&C + HD USB Video format, in designs originally created in older Q-SYS Designer versions and then upgraded to 9.10 or later.
            • Video: Resolved an issue where downgrading from Q-SYS Designer 10.x to 9.13.1 left certain network ports open that should be closed by default, causing camera firmware updates to fail.
            • Video: Resolved an issue where NC-series camera imaging (NC-110, NC-12x80, NC-20x60) could stop working intermittently when Auto Framing was enabled in ACPR configurations with "Wait for Framing" active, while the camera status block continued to report OK.
            • Video: Resolved an issue where NV-32 Explore (EP) parts were stuck in ISP Mode 2 on initial boot, causing HDMI inputs and outputs to report missing connections.
            • Video: Resolved an issue where an NV-21 encoder could intermittently report an "Above Max Format" fault when receiving a valid 1080p source via USB-C.
            • Video: Resolved an issue where the NV-1 was logging erroneous UDC error messages during startup.

My Eprad Plugin has been updated to version 1.4.1.

The main new feature is Event Logging on the Core.

              image.png

Note, it has to be enabled via the Properties (to reveal the Event Log tab as well as permit the logging) and then on the Event Log tab, one has to Enable the Logging. Additionally, each type of logging desired needs to be enabled individually.

I think this could be a very handy feature for tracing problems when shows don't go as planned. The Core's Event Log can set up a decent timeline as to what happened during the show.

The plugin is available on my Github repo. https://github.com/sguttag/QSYS-Plug...ain/Eprad/eCNA

I'm leaving the older versions up there too in the Archive folder.

I believe that this will be the last feature update for version 1. I do plan on a version 2 for use with the version 2 CPUs. I don't think there will be any feature updates beyond allowing for more Macros and RDIs that the version 2 CPU has brings. Plugin version 1.4.1 should work with version 2 CPUs but with version 1 limitations.

Heads up on QDS 9.13.2 LTS. If you are running redundant Core (most of my systems) and have a fair number of control systems (plugins for projectors, servers and whatnot), as that traffic increases, the status of the Core will complain about the backup Core being off line and then, quickly recover. If you are look at the status box when it happens...it will just be a flash. I've noted, at night, when all of the projectors and servers shutdown, the problem goes away.

Functionally, 9.13.2 LTS seems to be working but i cannot having the status flashing like that all day so i reverted back to 9.13.1 LTS. Where I don't have a redundant Core, there has been no issues. Thus far, it has come up on Core 110f and Core 510i. I have not tried it on Core Nano, yet. I do have a case open with Q-SYS to get it resolved.

I should also note, if you switch to the redundant Core, then the roles reverse and the momentary flash is about the Primary Core (whichever one is in standby).

QDS 10.5.0 has just dropped...and it's massive. Check out the new features in QDS. The signal highlighting is pretty cool. If you click on a wire/signal it will light up the entire end-to-end (including through router/mixers). It can convert you messy wires (I'm kinda partial to messy wires) to Signal Names (wire tags). Since it is a x.x.0 release, I'm not eager to jump into it. I'm hanging at 9.13.1 LTS for any system that can stay there. This is going to get more difficult going forward, however. The DPA line of amplifiers have gone EOS (they will no longer fix them). Most everything but the DCIO-H, that was designed/made before 2020 has now gone EOL (no longer made) and, somewhat quickly, heading towards EOS (no longer repaired). What this all means is that the new MPA-Q amplifiers will be the logical replacements for the DPA-2K4Q or CX-Q2K4 (using the MPA-Q 4x500). This will necessitate using QDS 10.4 or newer.

Heads up on updating to 10.5.0...it downloads newer .NET versions (.NET 10) and they aren't small, by comparison...so it takes some time and space.

I don't know if Q-SYS is showing their hand or not but if you check their "Compatibility by Software" page, they are removing all of the cinema speakers as well as all of the recently discontinued Cores like the 510 and 110. I believe it is a "misprint" since they are all still there in 10.5.0 but are now in the "Discontinued" section (you have to tick a box to see the discontinued stuff that is still supported). The Compatibility by Software page is perpetually incorrect (you'd never know that 9.13.2 LTS added support back for the TSC-G3 touchscreens).

                  v10.5.0

Version 10.5.0 was released September 29, 2026, and includes these updates and resolved issues.

                  • Control:Resolved an issue where commenting out a property in a UCI Style definition (e.g., within a meter:value(1) selector) would cause the HTML UCI to freeze and repeatedly generate a "UCI Viewer Drawing Exception" error in the browser console. The UCI would not respond to touch or click actions when viewed in Core Manager.
                  • Control:Resolved an issue where using Timer.CallAfter within a Lua co-routine could cause a crash or system instability.
                  • Control:Resolved an issue where the Hard Links list could contain duplicate or invalid IP address.
                  • Control:Resolved an issue where expanding nested elements in the UCI Layers tab required expanding each sub-layer individually rather than fully expanding all items on double-click.
                  • Endpoints:Resolved an issue where QIO-L24O devices intermittently reported Audio Clock Set and Output Stream LAN A Streaming Error (Packet Missing, Packet Too Late) events, causing brief audio dropouts.
                  • Endpoints:Resolved an issue that prevented the Sennheiser TCC-M Plus microphone from appearing in the IO Monitor component's device selection.
                  • Endpoints:Resolved an issue where changing the Dynamic Pairing of a Sennheiser TCC-M Plus microphone would fail to update the audio link.
