They had probably had an intermission just before the fire started. Also its kind of interresting. My guess why the film catched fire was before he removed the proction glass. You see the lens in the projector going up some inches. It was good idea project the movie at the house, but the film overheated. Sad, because Alfredo just wanted to make the people happy.  |  IP: Logged Claude S. It is a two disc set containing the longer version of the film and a audio CD of music from the movie. The discs are housed in a nice box and I have the set. They were technical advisors. The print was in excellent condition, but strangely it had mono sound. I also prefer the shorter theatrical version. I see that a new Region 2 copy can be had on eBay for £8 (inc UK delivery) as of today (8.2.12). I ran "Paradiso" at Greater Union Pitt Centre for over 6 months We always ran it in 1:66 and yes the print we had was mono.
