Jason

5-6kW rather large?

As the friendly McD counter staff would say " You want to super size that?"

Go large on the 15kW water cooled beauties used in the IMAX GTs

I must admit that the size of the 15kw xenon bulb on display at The Projected Picture Trust, Bletchley Park, made my eyes water. Dennis in another thread said he also supplied 32kw!

The lamp I am holding is a 15kw display lamp, non-pressurized. We are building a 32kw lamp and will post the picture when finished.The actual show date for the GSTA conference is Oct 2cnd. Unfortunately only one day for the actual trade show.

I'm arriving Wednesday around noon, and leaving Sunday. In addition to the Inter-Society, SMPTE P3, and Cyan Dye Track committee meetings, most of my time will be spent on the exhibit floor and technical seminars.

Hiya;

I was just taking a look at the floor plan since we have a couple more spaces than I thought, and lo and behold -- I don't see Christie on the floor, nor are they listed. Is Christie skipping Show East?

Hello Pat,

That's what I have heard. From what I can gather Christie will not have a booth yet will have employees walking the floor. Same with Cine Asia.

Wow, that surprises the heck out of me. If one of us didn't show up, wouldn't the rumor mill be going strong? Wonder if these will be normal by Show West?

Several other vendors will be no show since I had a couple contact me regarding sticking some items in our booths. With six cinema related shows from now to the end of the year, some promotional budgets are being factored very tight. We are up in the air what to show since some items are in transit and the show costs of dragging in hardware versus literature / photos. The Toronto show will help since some of my clients are planning to visit that show, stopping at our facility in Miami, and going on to ShowEast.
Last year Cinema Film systems was a no show and Dick Niccum has brought it back to life under another enterprise....we should not have to worry about Christie since they are very diversified, and well funded versus some other players.

One would just think that one of the big players in DCinema would want to keep their product in the face of exhibitors. I can understand wheni some of the smaller vendors have to decide just what shows to do but Christe isn't a small player.

Kinda like when Sony dropped out of ShoWest...no they aren't dead yet but they are clearly running at a minimal effort nowadays.

Kodak is co-sponsoring the Friday dinner with Warner Bros.

I believe Christie is co-sponsoring a lunch with Nielsen EDI.
