Sony with their GLV technology for Digital Cinema will probably be at the next Show West convention....but then again the Show West trade show is within 4 weeks of the NAB convention in the same city where their booth IS about the size of Show West venue.

I'm going to DisneyWorld!

Yeah, and I might hang a bit by Dolby's booth on the Trade Show floor.

What is the secret Film-Tech handshake? If I see anybody with a Film-Tech association, how will I know? Do all the Film-Tech-ers wear a white carnation or something...? White gloves?

Let me know.

Also, if anybody would care to be added to the Dolby Distributor Dispatch Newsletter e-mail list, let me know. (ted.costas@dolby.com)

See ya at the show, Ted

Well, for the first time in MANY years, I am going to a trade show. I am looking forward to meeting as many of you there as I can. Since I work for SMART, I will probably have to hang out there mostly, but I might manage to slip away a couple of times and see a bit of the show. I don't remember our booth number, but please do look me up if you get a chance.

Larry: When did BL&S move? My daughter lives in Brighton on Murdock Street, not too far from your old address.

Tom, The jacket you are wearing in your photo will fit right in with most of the people manning the trade show floor. Will probably be difficult for you to eat the free hot dog's and coke's. oops! sorry Paul, I meant to say "weiner's"

Well, I'm back from a day on the trade show floor! All I have to say is wow. Almost overwhelming taking in all of the info, goodies, and free stuff, hehe. My arm hurts from lugging around this bag all day!

Met quite a few Film-Techers: Larry Shaw (who was the whole reason I was there to begin with), Ian Price (who let me tag along with him and showed me all the neat stuff), Steve Guttag, John Pytlak, Bill Purdy, John Gordon (who gave me a cool QSC mug from which I will drink coffee while I read the forums), Dennis Losco (who let me fondle the big xenons), and probably a bunch of others that I left out, and some who I haven't met who I probably will tomorrow. WHAT A BLAST!!

Pictures to come!
=TMP=
(already looking forward to next year)

Here are some pictures from Showeast. Some during setup and some after show started. The quality ain't necessarily great, but they are usable.
