whether intended or not -- this is a source of pressure on 2D cinemas to convert to 3D
i see two solutions:
1. convert to 3D; or
2. don't book 3D movies if you are a 2D cinema, or if you do, be prepared to field customer complaints and have your reputation tarnished
of course, as theatres convert to 3D, their appetite for 3D material increases and, eventually, the pressure goes back in the other direction, thus completing the demand cycle
(so 3D may take a while to die out, if it ever dies out at all.)
