Everyone of those theaters features 15/70 film projection? If so, I wonder how many of them will still be projecting true IMAX by the time The Dark Knight Rises is released.

I'm hoping the Austin and San Antonio locations will still have real IMAX next summer. They'll be the nearest places for me to see the movie. I have some friends in Austin so that may be the ticket.

FYI... The "Tuttleman IMAX – Franklin Institute" in Philly is actually an Omnimax dome theater. Keep that in mind when choosing.

The closest for me looks like it would be the Tropicana, which is actually in Atlantic City, NJ., not Philly.

And what, no DC location? That blows.

I have a great idea. Everyone start calling every IMAX theater around that is NOT on this list that's playing Ghost Protocol and ask them if they're going to be showing it. When they say "no", let them know you'll be going somewhere else.

Bobby, I know the White River IMAX here in Indy is for sure 15/70 and since it's part of the Indiana Sate Museum I don't think they will be changing anytime soon. I got to work with the lead guy that runs the IMAX at the museum at the Indy film festival and as far as he knew they are staying with film.

Well, Mark, whomever put together that list cited everything by market...except for Washington, DC, so it's no wonder it was difficult to spot.

To hopefully make the list easier to reference, I've edited that press release list into a format based on state/province and have changed the market listings into the specific city/community in which the theaters are located. As well, I've attempted to correct some of the theater names.

Yep. It's a furniture store with an IMAX theater next door. Actually they have two of these oddities. From what I've seen in some sign industry magazines they're pretty glitzy.

It would be hilariously awesome if Nolan had enough pull to only allow the final movie to be released to those 70mm theaters.

Yes, Mark, let's all me total dicks to the employees who had nothing to do with the designing and building of their theatres, or when equipment is changed out. That'll show them not to have an obsolete system in their building!

One thing is absolutely certain: I'm not giving any IMAX Digital theater my business, phone call or not. It is not worth the high price premium and it sure isn't worth driving any significant distance to see.

If I have to watch a movie in 2K digital format, I'm going to do so for regular price at a regular movie theater or maybe even just wait until I can rent it on Blu-ray.

I might be willing to drive some distance to Austin in order to see the next Batman movie, especially since it may be the last Hollywood studio movie that does anything at all with 70mm film.

yet the Smithsonian has yet to update it's IMAX page to advertise 'MI:Ghost Protocol' is the next IMAX movie at Udvar Hazy - oh the anticipation!!!
