Have it happening right now on our Solaria One. Has any new fix come along other than reboot?

No idea about the Christie, but this problem hasn't happened here in probably 2 years or more, so I'm guessing a software fix was implemented on the NEC.

It's the first time for us and just updated the software a couple of weeks ago.
Rebooting did do the trick and our tech will be reviewing the logs and reports.
The audience sat thru over an hour of pink film. Maybe being an animated feature (The Wind Rises) helped make it tolerable. No one left or asked for a refund.

Perfect example why you can't use audience complaints as a gauge of the quality of your presentation, or that there isn't a problem.

I'm kind of amazed that a person didn't come out within 5 minutes as opposed to an hour.

I'm more amazed that nobody who works at the theatre noticed the problem for that period of time.

Martin,

Are you 100% sure your playlist was correct? I've never seen it happening for other reasons than operator's error.

We've been using the playlist all week without problems. I rebooted after the show and everything was fine. The fact that it occurred about 40mins into the show weighs against operator error.

Someone did come out to tell us when it happened. And we made an announcement as we were trying to fix it. We have a patient audience who knows we do pay attention and try to fix problems. They were just willing to sit through the show without the green chip.

Have you been to an average multiplex recently? [Smile]

It could equally be just a software or even hardware related glitch. Ever wondered how your picture looks like when you're losing one of the three DMDs for example?

I haven't watched a movie in any theatre other than my own for the past 20 years.

Apparently I'm not missing anything.

Wonder if Allen needs to get a tech over to check the macros in his cues in his Dolby Server unit if his BARCOS are showing 3D where the content is in 2D in his Dolby unit..or just using wrong cues.

I have the same in two houses - BARCO 32B with DS200 servers and no issues with this forced usage with my setup.

If the "was" holds present and issue corrected, then please disregard this note.

Have to make this a mandatory requirement if units are left on all the time: Weekly reboots, or even a total "flip the switch" shutdown, then reboot (cold reboot).

^^That is a good practice in my eyes, and would certainly solve a lot of problems at my location, however for whatever reason, the GM was told to never turn them off and of course he is running with that. Despite the fact we are constantly having to hard-restart them when we have issues with connectivity anyways.

I shudder to think of the problems we will have when we go full digital.

It has been policy at my theater to just do a cold restart of the projector and server every Monday morning before opening.

There have been a few problems where the projector glitches and won't play a show properly. Since we have been doing this policy, we have had no problems like that at all.

Besides that, it also solves the problem with clocks drifting off time.

I actually do that every Thursday night as part of my changing of the movie routine. I too find that I have less glitches and unexplained issues when I shut the whole thing down and reboot it on Thursday nights.

FWIW, we reboot daily. There was a service notice with the Solaria One recommending a shutdown every 24 hours. As we usually have one show a night, shutting down is just part of the end of show routine.
