The theater I was in was packed and the audience loved every second of the movie, there where many rounds of applause throughout the film and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. My jaw was on the floor the whole time, this movie starts strong and ends strong. Really no slow parts, just one set peice to another. Who gives a fuck about the story? If you went in to this film looking for anything more then a movie where shit gets blown up and BIG ASS robots kick the shit out of each other, then you were walking in to the wrong film. I give this a 4.5/5 a great summer popcorn movie that will fill our theaters, and fill our concession lines. My theater sold out every showing of it today. WIth 1 of our two theaters holding 608 people. People were lined up 5 hours before there show time. I think you guys who didn't like it need to step back and lighten up a bit. This is a big summer movie from start to finish. I have yet to talk to a person at my theater that didn't like it. I have seen it twice, and loved it. Some of the dialog could go, but overall it's just pure fun. First movie this summer that didn't utterly disappoint me, and probably the last. I cannot wait until the sequels get scripted so we can find out what transformers will be appearing. Those things removed, however, the movie was a typical, Michael Bay, if-mediocrity-was-a-crime-he-would-be-on-death-row movie. For goodness sake, quit with all the slow-motion. That alone added an extra 30 minutes. ***MINOR SPOILER*** I did have a bit of a problem with Bumblebee being a Camaro instead of a VW Bug and Megatron not being a huge freaking gun that Soundwave holds, but there again, nostalgia.  |  IP: Logged Claude S. The sound mix was great. The dialog was just horrendous! I mean, seriously, the dialog was a combination of the scripts from The Core and Stealth (and I'm not referring to the robots' lines). 2 out of 5  |  IP: Logged Claude S. I felt it was over saturated causing the image to appear a little contrasty. I cannot fault the theatre's projection system because all the Real D 3-D films and the movie "300" in digital I saw in this house was excellent. The sound however was fantastic. As for the movie itself, I did not like it. I think if I was much younger and into video games and comic books, I most likely would have enjoyed it. I was just totally bored throughout the film and was thinking about walking out. It just dragged on for way too long. The second half of the movie could easily have been condensed into 5 minutes, 10 tops. The robots were beyond stupid, and they were that look at me FUN-EE corny. I liked one part of this movie and that was Michael Bay's small self-homage by using Michigan Central Station as a set again. The attached trailer "Stardust" was just beyond confusing, what the hell. Usually my wife and I agree mostly on movie reviews this one we were way off: Me: Knowing going in that the plot would be weak and the dialog would be silly/retarded, I went in looking just for action and effects. I thought the action was good and the CGI was great. I would give it 3.5 out of 5 and it was very entertaining to me. Wife: She (a transformers fan from childhood) thought the movie was boring and stupid and had trouble staying awake. She said she would barely give it 2 stars. Cloverfield was the attached trailer. BTW, this is a fake working title. On IMDb, it's listed as "Untitled J.J. Abrams Project." Nonetheless, I think the trailer was very effective.
