Author Topic: Inglourious Basterds (2009) Justin Hamaker Film God Posts: 2253 From: Lakeport, CA USA Registered: Jan 2004 posted 08-23-2009 01:53 AM                        One of the things that struck me when I watched Inglourious Basterds was the quality of the image. I thought the steadiness of the image and the overall quality was far superior to the average wide release. I can't help wonder if QT had more exacting standards than normal for print production. He is such a stickler for deatail and always puts together a great sound track. I loved all the theatre stuff as I'm sure we all did, and I could not help feeling bad for the girl having to do the MARQUEE, I always hated that. It blows away my mind and the best part was the trailer doesn't give anything away.This film truly amazed me, It made laugh and my jaw drop. The dialogue is brilliant, the opening scene which last for a reel and half was excellent. This is one of the best movies of the summer, top 5 for the year probably so far. How long has this movie been out? 4 days? Wow, the Regal Riverpoint 14 sure doesn't waste any time being incompetent. Movie started late and out of frame. Volume was also incredibly loud and the sound quality was bad. Tons of lab splices. There wasn't anyone to complain to since they were all closing when the movie let out, the lobby was completely abandoned of all employees. I hate this theater. I am never returning. Nobody should. The actual movie: I haven't seen Jackie Brown yet, but this is my 2nd least favorite QT movie. My least favorite is Death Proof. I'd rather watch Freddy Got Fingered than that. But this movie is trying to be Kill Bill. It used the same "chapter" stuff and even the same font. Hell, it even uses a lot of the exact same music as Kill Bill. Lame. The movie is OK and it is worth seeing once. The ending is good. Everyone keeps talking about how great the first 15 minutes of the movie are. NOTHING HAPPENS!!! This movie doesn't have a lot of Brad Pitt or the Basterds in it and as a result is a lot less fun than it could have been.
