Better communication and a little "guidance" will go a long way in helping the audience keep the theatre clean and not disturb others with unknowingly rude behavior (e.g., cell phones or talking during the movie). The vast majority of people want to "follow the rules" and be polite, but sometimes, they just don't know the "rules" or need to be gently reminded and rewarded for following them. IMHO, the "personal touch" of a live announcement or a "thank you" as people leave is more effective than a stale policy trailer. For example, I find most travelers ignore the pre-recorded flight safety videos, but still pay attention if the flight attendant does the safety demo in person. ------------------ John P.
