Thanks for the link. Reading it reminds me how much of Kodak's digital technology is already in use in the motion-picture industry.
Kodak supplied key technology for digital scanning to Lucasfilm ILM well over a decade ago:

Here is a personal prediction. The world of digital technology is not limitless. Eventually, silicon technology will run out. Then where will be digital technology. Alternatives to silicon are being developed but the costs could be immense.
Film is here to stay and still has much potential for improvement that hasn't been taken advantage off. Film is practical, cheaper and has the capacity to evolve too.
