Carl - unless you work at the AMC Empire 25 in NYC, you don't have the highest gross

okay, i asked the chief about that and he thinks he was told we grossed the most for friday only. there may be a slight cheat there as it probably includes both the thursday midnight and friday midnight shows.

Actually, she was a slender blonde, of college age, in a crisp linen summer suit.

So Geraldo what your saying is that she was a hooker enlisted to gather voters to the cause?

[Confused] She sounds like a well educated person. Why do you insult a person you never met by calling her a "hooker"?

There are questions, and there are insults: [Roll Eyes]

Question: "How is your family doing?" [thumbsup]

Insult: "Are you still beating your wife and kids?" [thumbsdown]

Sam,
If you were directing your facetious inquiries to Geraldo,
I can't comment. My name is Gerard. I don't confuse you with anyone else, nor invent nicknames for you.

Nor do you accidentally misspell names, which he might have done, or just glanced at your name.

Not to worry Dustin...it's just the usual guys trying to interject their political views under the guise of a "post"...and then get upset about it when they are called on it.

This thread on "Extra Security" had posts reflecting anxiety about violent demonstrations, threats and leafletting. One post even questioned whether an armed police officer might be needed, and another asked why.

Mention was made concerning the distribution of flyers outside or within the theater.

This was my second post:

Actually, she was a slender blonde, of college age, in a crisp linen summer suit.

I checked the website to learn that 3,632 parties had been planned, ranging from 11 to 350 persons signed up to attend each, as of 10 PM. Venues varied from private homes and apartments to large restaurants, bars and meeting halls, where the images were piped to large screens with audio amplification. Entering one's zip code and preferred distance called up invitational listings, and acceptance, details and confirmation would be done online. For private parties, people were asked to bring food and drink to share.

This was planned as an intensive voter registration and information drive.

This was my first post:

No need for security at the Kew Gardens Cinema, though a thunderstorm broke just as one aftenoon showing ended and the line for the 6PM show stretched out the door and around the corner of the block. Everyone crowded into the lobby and the doors to the auditorium were opened just in time to prevent bruised ribs. But the people were in a happy mood.

I asked the manager if she intended opening a third screen for the film (there were only two patrons for "The Mother", while F 9/11 sold out both screens.)She said no.

Outside a good-looking gal was handing out fliers inviting people to arrange group viewings of a "National On-line Town Meeting with Michael Moore" on the night of June 28th.

I researched the distribution of literature at my local theatre, its nature, success and results.

My post was on topic, but the intrusions of perverted sex humor and anti-female remarks were not. Sure, one could say the trampling on another's thread, like the trampling on the flag, might be construed as protected free-speech expression, but neither is a respectful act, in my opinion.

And any linking of me with Geraldo I regard as an insult.

Relax guys. Back on topic..we didnt need extra security at our theater. Maybe because we didnt get the movie. I'm sure that had something to do with it.

It's a good thing Sam didn't link your name with Gerardo because that would not be riiico suave [Wink] of him and would be more of an insult. But yeah, Sam , I think you were trying to get a rise out of Gerard by misspelling his name twice, not just once.

As far as dealing with any arguments between left wingers and right wingers, I would just tell them firmly to take it outside.
If they clash with you, explain to them the difference between blocking a theater from exhibiting it(which is not free speech) and discouraging potential patrons from attending the movie using free speech methods.

For those across the pond who might not get the reference, Geraldo is a once much-esteemed broadcast journalist who jeopardized his reputation by huckstering several phony reports.
