quote: I am thankful today that I was given a variety of religion in small doses by my parents and other relatives so I could learn about them and then later in my childhood be allowed to make my own choice regarding it... when I look back all I can think is how smart and progressive my parents were!
My parents raised me a devout Mormon, and when I went into the world, I was a lost child for sure! I spent the better part of six years studying varying religeons, and then settled on deciding for various reasons, to choose what I am today. To avoid the discussion of religeon by Film Tech rules, I will only say that I too have chosen to teach my children all I know, and allow them to make thier own choices in life.
As for the topic at hand, and for cutting people some slack and stuff, I just have this to say....

Without getting "religious" but posting in general, I know what you're saying since I was raised under the thumb and guilt of the Catholic Church until I wised up. When I was 12 or so, the thing that really made me realize that I was being "programmed" to all of "Man's" Religious BS is when in confession the priest kept telling me that I was going to hell cuz I enjoyed J/O. So ya know what? I kept J/O'ing and STOPPED confessing and telling him the details he wanted to know! (Pervert!...Him NOT me!) Then I got "enlightened" and realized that "God" (Him, Her, or whoever) made me for the person I am, not necessarily in "man's" descriptive image... I disowned the "Church", and they disowned me. I still believe in a higher power/God... I mean I DO want to go to heaven ***IF ***there is one! I'm just hedging my bets just in case! (Hey Brad, IF I have stepped on your posting rules about religion, please do not lock this thread but use the to put me in my place!)
