Sit through a show and fill out a THX TAP form on their presentation, then politely present a copy of it to the manager. Heh Heh. Maybe give them a brochure about Kodak ScreenCheck.

Mike..I think you haveto have an IQ of under 10 so the population is most likely a minus figure. Oh! By the way the Mayor of this town is under investigation for promoting run down buildings.

Some highlights:
According to the 2000 census, Watseka has a population of 5,670; 2,463 households; and covers 2.62 square miles. Iroquois county has a population of 31,334; 13,362 households; and covers 1,118 square miles. Iroquois county is 96% white and 51% are between ages 21-62. For Watseka, 13% of the families and 16% of individuals live at or below the poverty level. Median household income is $30,440. 27% work in "Production, transportation, and material moving occupations".

Bob hit the nail on the head: "if the public cared they wouldn't be open".

You see, obviously they don't care that they spent $3 each to sit in this hellhole and watch a movie. I just can't figure out why. I mean, they have a video store (Familifun Video at 1160 East Walnut Street).

It's been going on for years, apparently, as Bob's 1995 visit to the Watseka Theatre shows. The population got used to it and it became the status quo. Why should this guy try to do it right when he can get by with what's been going on for years?

And just who is our new favorite exhibitor? SMITH THEATRES

Anybody have an Encyclopedia of Exhibition handy?

Looks more like a run down Biker Bar to me...Bob, I bet they serve good martini's there. After two or three no one will know the difference!! Geez, If I only know Photoshop a bit better I could fix the place up!!

The 1300 Film-techers should contribute about $500 each into a fund to go into that town with a nice little 5-plex and kick that guy's ass outa there.

i bet if someone built a half decent theatre, with a few screens, nothing fancy, it would do pretty well. Of course it would be hard to compete with $3 tickets, and a local population that isnt very particular at all about the presentation.

Maybe the town and the county don`t have enough inhabitants to finance a better theater? I guess in such a town people will accept anything, however bad, that gives them something to do. Watseka nightlife is probably not rich in attractions.

I think people would support it. All the talk you hear about people seeking out better presentation...if it's true, this is the best town to put the theory to work in!

Trust me, You would do VERY well in that small town with a nice small plex!! They would eat it up. The population there is mainly farming type. Miles and miles of corn in the summer months. So just imagine, if a theatre looked like the inside of a barn they'd never notice it.
