I'm probably what you would call a lurker in these forums. I read them everyday, but don't contribute much. I am a former projectionist who's moved onto different pastures now (learned on Kalee 21's, progressed to C+W and Bauer, had a deep affair with some Kinoton DP75's, FP20's and FP30's, got a little intimate with some Vic-8's and Vic-5's, and wound up the career on Centurys), but I still love the art of projection, movies and all that goes with it. I do wish that one day I will return to running shows. Since I feel I haven't kept up with the industry in a practical way I tend not to interject for fear of getting it all wrong. And coming from Australia also limits me a bit as a lot of the information is US-centric. However I do look forward to being able to see projection room installations and I felt a bit disappointed when the limits were placed on viewing the new pictures available. I tend to get the feeling that in these forums that the film-uneducated waffling on with dribble is frowned upon, and thats why I rarely post. However I would love to see these new additions to the site. I commend you Brad on the Site and all its workings, but can I ask why the restrictions? Will it mean that I have to rack up 50 posts of nothing so I can see these pics? I dont want to have to start contributing crap just to see them.... Thanks for letting me post. The 'restrictions' are there to encourage participation and even out the bandwidth used so that it doesn't 'kill' the forums. Yes I did miss the Link even on the 21" monitor I'm sitting in front of... So I guess I will start to interject a bit more, I may even scan some of my own projection room pics and add them to the collection. Hell I may even send in a photo of myself, but I must warn that small children and animals could become frightened at this sight. Oh and I'll add a crap detector to my computer. My heart races with excitement each day hoping that a new Bauer manual will be posted. So far I have not been let down. I was expecting the Brenkert or the Holmes, but instead I get the Norelco AA2? Seriously though, I personally think a packet of manuals should be available for download instead of one per day. That way the Bauer crap only takes up one day since it seems to have 40 different manuals. And then if there are 36 different manuals for the Norelco, then they could be bunched together as well. I wouldn't want you to post a picture of the outside of a theater one day, then the lobby the next day, etc etc...  |  IP: Logged Daryl C. W. Not everyone has the same opinion of Bauers as Joe does.
