My name is pronounced just like it is spelled, but people still butcher it.
Some people insist on "Evan" instead of "Evans" even though they see the "s" and even write the "s" when they write my name. I tell many people to pronounce my first name "CHRIS" if it's easier for them to remember (a nickname since 1974).
Criswell is CHRIS-well (preferred over chris-WELL). Some people say CHRIZ-well which I don't mind. The worst is chriz-WELL.
And of course, my middle name, "A", gets confusing, too. People want to insist on putting a period after it, which isn't technically wrong, just unnecessary. Three different English teachers (one in 8th grade, one in 11th grade, one in college) have marked it on essays or compositions I've turned in, when I'd have my name typed as "Evans A Criswell" without the unnecessary period, and had to explain it to them. You'd think they'd give me credit for knowing how to properly write my name, especially since I made nearly all A's.
