The Seaview was going to shoot a missle at it and blow it out. But it finally just burned itself out thus allowing mankind to explore space without the fear of being exposed to all that radiation. But this guys belief was that it was an impenetrable wall that would kill anyone entering, thereby making space exploration impossible.
