Why do you use a knife?

It is an inefficient tool for the job at hand. The jelly slips off the knife when trying to scoop it out of the jar. Why not use a spoon? You can scoop a nice blob of jam/jelly/preserves out of the jar with ease when using a spoon.

Now, I know that the reply will be: "It's too hard to get all the peanut butter out of the 'hollow' of the bowl of the spoon." Simple. Just turn the spoon around backwards and use it that way. No peanut butter will get into the bowl of the spoon. It'll be easy to wipe the PB onto the bread.

If you REALLY want to guild the lilly, you could use a utensil called a Spoon-U-La.

 -

It's a rubber spatula with one side concave like a spoon. It is THE PERFECT tool for spreading things like icing or transfering "gloppy" substances from one container to another and still maintain the ability to scrape every bit of it from the sides of the container. You can get them from most good cooking stores and they come in several sizes to fit into most containers that you might come up against.

I don't know why people use a knife. I've used a spoon for as long as I can remember. It just seems like "PB & J Done Right" to me! [Wink]

Some of you fellows are griping about stale bread? Sheesh, I'm a bachelor. There's no such thing as stale bread in my house. It just doesn't last long enough. And then I go for a spell when I cannot stand the sight of another sandwich. That's "bachelor food" for you!

I have one idea that I would like to try for making a good PB&J sandwich. A well endowed lady with a taste for things a little more kinky would be a prerequisite. Rub some PB on one breast. Apply jelly (not KY) to the other breast. Put the bread in the clevage. Mash breasts together. Pull out bread and rotate slices 180 degrees. Voila! Kinky PB&J!

BTW: you lick off the residue left behind on the willing lady's bodacious ta tas. [thumbsup]

I have no problem using a knife. I don't know how it could be any easier. If I had problems I might consider using something else.

Food has no place during sexual encounters (yes John Lasher I know. I don't care). The tongue could be used for more exciting activities anyway. Besides, food is great immediately afterwards when you have kicked her out and you want to sit down and relax with a good sandwich that you forced her to make for you just minutes before and then go to sleep. You don't want to already be full when that time comes around. [Smile]

So Phil started the idea -- so how many of you have ever had any interesting experiences with peanut butter, jelly, honey, or anything similar? [Smile] Sorry, but the topic of making sandwiches can only go so far and be interesting. Let's spice it up a bit, as a few of you already have.

We have an interesting point here in the fact that in Australia the meaning of the word "jelly" may be different to the US.
Down under, and in the UK, jelly is a semi- solid sweet made from gelatine, sugar and flavouring dissolved in boiling water which when set is eaten usually with ice-cream.
Is this the same as the jelly referred to?

John,

In America, jelly is usually made from fruit juice and fruit pectin. It is cooked until the pectin thickens the juice. If the mixture has crushed/cut-up fruit in it you get jam. If you have mostly fruit with just enough of the juice to make the mixture gel, you get preserves. If you use cirtus fruits and put in part of the rind and pulp instead of the whole fruit you get marmalade.

To oversimplify: Jelly = Jam.
