Half the home computers out there don't have the correct time, time zone, day, month or even year set anyway.

The world is going to end, and consequentially we're all going to die at Tue Jan 19 03:14:07 2038 anyway. Y2K was just a warm up. [Wink]

I might be wrong here, but I do not think I am. Wasn't the whole point of Day Light Savings Time to helper farmers with their crops? That way they will have more time in the summer by natural light to help grow and cultivate. Then when winter comes they roll it back because you have less crops that can grow and you do not need as much natural light. Times change...people change...reasons change...As we become more "modern" maybe certain changes need to be made.

As luck would have it... Arizona doesn't observe the whole DST thing. Thought I loved living here for a reason. [Big Grin]

Altough we are = to PDT in the Spring/Summer and MST in the Fall/Winter. Which screws me up sometimes when having to figure out hour differences between time zones. Mostly in relation to GMT and CET.

Eh? Crops get the same amount of sunlight, regardless of what time the farmer has to get up to cultivate them.

Without a software change, remember to make the manual change on the new effective date, and to correct it when the computer makes the time change on the originally scheduled date.

No. It gives the FARMER an extra hour of daylight before he goes in to watch the satellite TV.

This has to be the stupidest thread ever... And especially to the one that revived it.

What a jerk!

I cannot imagine why anyone would NOT want a permanent DLST... I would even like an EXTRA hour of DLST in the summer months for a total of 2 hours like in the 70's!

Oh, the poor, poor kiddies, having to walk in the dark...HA! What a lame excuse and a bunch of BS! Also, I do not buy the energy saving bit. One percent? Who cares? It's just really nice to have an extra amount of daylight after work!

Bottom line to all yous bleeding hearts: Go f*uck yourselves!

(What do you think, Joe? Am I off-base or on target?)

You people are all fools! What you all need is a job like mine in which I travel between Central, Mountain, and Pacific time constantly..... With all this travel I've stopped going by time of day completely and just ignore it all together. I just call the customer and let them know "when I am near". For 99% of them "thats good enough". The other 1% just gets serviced last.
