If you get bored a lot, learn to use your right hand more.
I get bored quite a bit from the total lack of companionship in my life. I occupy my time by going to theatres to watch movies, watching movies on DVD on the home system, listen to music, occasionally write programs to play with mathematical ideas I come up with (Playing with numbers is more productive than playing with myself, but not always as satisfying). I also drive around a lot. For some reason, driving off to another city fills a lot of time and makes me feel less alone.
More ideas:
Calculate pi out to a whole bunch of decimal places. Here are the digits I know to get you started: 3.1415926535897932384626433...
Learn the square root of 67 out to a bunch of places to impress people at parties: Here are the digits I know to get you started.. 8.185352771872.. (It helps if you have a bizarre reason to know such a thing, like in my case, the strange girl that sat behind me in 11th grade geometry class).
Write poetry! Check out my poem review in the "Return to Neverland" thread. It doesn't matter if your poetry sucks. Write anyway!
Here's an example:
Poem 72 (1997/04/08) by Evans A Criswell
Painting a cuckoo can be a chore especially during the hours one until four. Ten brush strokes will be the best you can do if you're ready each time for the first cuckoo.
If you start early and from nine till twelve you work you'll do more than four times as much -- Oh what a perk! In a twelve hour period, though, no matter when you start, at most 78 strokes will you spread on that part.
If paying a worker daily by the hour to do this task having his shift end at noon is something you must ask. If a worker is hired painting the cuckoo 24 hours a day divide needed brush strokes by 156, giving days of delay.
Anyway, if you're bored, there's always something silly you can think up to entertain yourself.
Josh, your next post in this thread should contain a poem you wrote. Judging by the spiky hair you have, you strike me as a creative fellow. I'd like to see something you could come up with.

Ah, North Dakota,
Great pheasant hunting right now, a little safer now that the deer season is over! Yes I've spent a few hours fine tuning my snowmobile so it is ready as soon as the snow comes. Already had it out about a week ago, damn the warm weather that melted the snow we had. Can't wait for a poker run! Finally time to get my motorcycle ready for hibernation. Oh yeah, the theatre, it's about that time of the year again. Cine 12- Babysitting. I also am on a couple of bowling leagues with my buddies, Mon and Tues nights (read: get trashed and try not to fall into the gutter) Sun and Wed we have a Men's hockey league, that is about enough physical activity to counter by beer habits.
Do you not have school? One or two classes or even online classes would keep you busy enough not to go nuts. There are quite a few college chicks down there right? You could just pretend to go to college, and maybe hang out at the library on campus to pick up some dates!
There are plenty of things to keep you busy... I'm sure you'll find something.
By the way, my driveway needs to be shoveled It would earn you a free tour of my theatre!
