I have an old lawn tractor, a 1968 John Deere 112 that I have been tinkering with for a few years, a streetbike, and 3 chainsaws. It always keeps me busy when I'm bored. For someone who spends all that time surfin' the internet and providing us with all those fine links, I'm totally shocked at your naivety about where earthquakes occur. There are very few places "exempt" from them not to include the fine state of New York. Yes, Yes, Yes. We all are quite aware of the California earthquakes and the horrendous wildfires that have always plagued all of the western US and Canada. I'm sure all of these events have been going on for umpteen centuries and will continue to do so well after both you and I have rotted in our graves. If you are really sincerely scared of "Mother Nature" perhaps you should consider moving. Ummmm…gosh, I wish I could think of somewhere "safe" to suggest. But if I read your seismic map correctly, any earthquake in Rochester will be fairly mild. I suspect there are some "hot" orange or red areas much nearer your home. People in the midwest freak out about earthquakes like Michiganders (seriously, that's what they're called) freak out about thunderstorms. I just wanna be able to call my mom and tell her, "See?
