Well... I know what my maiden name means.

CARTER:

I have no idea what Mayer means. I think it is of Bavarian origin.

My name will be changing to Kawasumi soon. The two Chinese characters used for the name (川角) mean "river" and "corner" so the name could be translated as "river bend" I suppose. It is a relatively rare name in Japanese--there are none presently in the US and my aunt and uncle in Yokohama are the last of the line in Japan. They are the only "Kawasumi" listed in the Tokyo-Yokohama metro area phonebooks. There is a current anime voice actress named Kawasumi also, but I think it is a stage name.

Cassidy seems to have derived from a Word meaning Complaint ???

It also claims that feeding the animal water in which a garment worn by a Cassidy has been soaked will ease the animal as well. The specific symptoms noted would lead the reader to suggest the animal was collicky or had a twisted digetstive tract.

Here it would be interesting to note that in Scots-Gaelic "Casideagh" means stomach complaint. Other common derivatives include "Casadh" in both Irish and Scots Gaelic meaning to twist or turn. It is easily refernced in any book on Piping both highland and Uillean and a type of musical ornamentation involving a quick twisting rather then bending of a note. A "Casadh" is an elaborate roll and can be recognized on any traditional tune recording as being the in-between beat bending of a note that many think is classic Irish sound.

Mayer or Meyer or Meier or Maier is a guy who handles milk processing on a farm and makes milk products, cheese etc.

David = Beloved. My mother gave me this name in honor of King David.

Paul = Humble. In honor of St. Paul from the book of Acts. This is my middle name.

Williams = Will, Desire, Protection. This is my last name.

So properly translated my name turns from...

David Paul Williams..

to

Beloved Humble Will Desire Protection type person...

Yes, I am beloved, beloved by all that are lucky enough to grace my humble presence, to feel the power of my will, my desire to protect my own ass...ets... and the ability to slay fire breathing dragons....

Or perhaps just rile people up a bit from time to time, but thats just my day job..

I would go into my italian heritage, but I would be violating my agreement with the government to not discuss my wherabouts in case those mob henchmen catch up with me again.

Fowler - old English meaning keeper of birds ( fowl ). There is some to truth to this since I have pet chickens, a neighborhood of duck "regulars" and the several hundred green parrots at morning and dusk [Wink]

...On my mother side is Delgado, Spanish for "Skinny"....my grandparents Ralpheal and Delores Delgado = Ralph and Dorothy Skinny....and they where [Wink]

I believe Aaron also spoke in some cases for Moses, and thus a communicator. This is funny because I'm majoring in Speech Communication! As for Garman, I don't know for sure but it is German I believe. My mother's name is Dutka, which is Polish. Not sure what that one means either.
