Unfortunately, thanks to Charley, a major disaster in some areas of Florida. My sympathies go out to those affected by the storm.
Regarding CFLs, Phil, the problem is with the dorks that use the "straight" CFLs in cans. If they had used the type with the coiled tube or the ones enclosed in a glass outer bulb, that wouldn't be a problem. Newer ones are so compact they even fit in small spotlight-style fixtures. OTOH, they are a pain to use with motion detector switches...
