If I could find it, I would post the sign we had in the office for the longest time depicting just that "UA escape from the movies". I had completely forgotten about that, but I do remember claiming it when I left there.

ODEON = "Fanatical About Film"
Unfortunately not for the 1930s cinemas they are closing

Other UK slogans

Warner Village [as was]- "Where cinema comes to life" (I don't know if this was refering to the vermin or not)

Ster Century- "Better on our big screen" (unfortunately their big screens are oversized and top masked which can induce nausia on 1:1.85 films)

I think UCI used "The Great Escape" but I think that just refered to the dificulty in finding the way out the car park.

I don't know what the best slogan is, but I definitely know what the worst is: the slogan of one theatre chain I worked for in Germany: "Da muss ich hin", which basically just means "That's where I have to go".
I could never believe how they could come up and actually use such a stupid slogan. Worse, I couldn't help thinking how they probably spent a ton of money for a "creative agency" to come up with that crap and develop an "advertising strategy" while cutting corners everywhere else. And how ecstatic they must have been that they came up with such a "concise and easy to remember slogan".
We even had a policy trailer with a very painful song around these words.
The only good thing about it was that you could easily modify it by substituting just one word to take on a new, more apt meaning along the lines of "I have to survive this".

Just like the Sony claim "Go create". This probably cost several million to come up with and "develop".

Are you sure the marketing team didn't contact somebody in East Berlin? Sounds a bit "communist" to me . . .

Actually part of the management was East German because that company, based in a town near the East/West border, started buying cinemas in the East like crazy right after the opening of the wall, and a lot of the deals they made apparently involved keeping those people. I never thought about that in this context. But I don't know if these are responsible for the slogan. It doesn't really have a military or commanding tone to it though. We actually had a few marketing people from the former East, which I could never figure out, because in the East, there was no such thing as marketing, or just very little...

Act III Theatres had the slogan "More Than A Movie" long before they were merged into Regal. They had a radio jingle that went "It's more than a movie...Act Three" that played with their pre-show music.

My Regal Crown Club shirt, vintage 2004, shows that the old Act III sologan is still in use.

Another Edwards sologan:
Enjoy Edwards Entertainment!

My favorite has to be AMC's "There is a Difference".
Actually, AMC's slogan is "Experience The Difference"

Carmike's should be "Home of the Carmike Experience." Anyone in this region of the country could tell you exactly what THAT means.

AMC used the slogan "There is a Difference" in the late 1980s. In some markets, they used local celebrities in their policy trailers. (Saint Louis had Whitey Herzog and a couple of players from the Cardinals baseball team.)

For Greater Union Gold Class- Movies take you on a journey.... Travel First class.

Landmark Logo trailers being pulled. I don't know if anything has replaced it.
not yet. actually i was just asking about that today. apparently there's some delay. lab problems? supposedly something new is coming at some point, though.

when i heard we had to pull all those snipes because someone else copyrighted/trademarked that phrase, well that was the dumbest thing i'd ever heard.

but then i recently heard we can't use the word "hot" in conjunction with the word "popcorn" anymore, apparently for tax reasons or something like that. now that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard.
