There are a *few* of us who do care about presentation and overall theatre going enjoyment... It's a sad shame that your comments do, in all likelyhood, reflect the general operations of our company, however. The true 'showmen' (from all the buyouts and mergers) have long died off or retired. It's all about concession you know.. whicyh is why we are raising prices once again.... Increase your per cap.. raise your prices.. yeah, it all makes sense to me.. NOT. Call me bitter tonight. So as long as you don't have hot popcorn, then popcorn is tax-free. Obviously hot dogs and nachos are hot. But coffee is a drink, so it's not taxed. Or something. My favorite sales tax laws I think are in Iowa where 1) bottled water is tax free 2) anything made with yeast is tax free 3) anything made with a certain percentage of natural fruit juices are tax tree. It seems almost arbitrary... what's next? Neff Theatre Dork Posts: 919 From: San Francisco, CA Registered: Oct 1999 posted 01-13-2005 03:22 PM                        When I wrote the Cinema West employee manual (mostly based off of Cineplex Odeon's) I included a glossary at the back to familiarize people with various theatre terms that they may not otherwise know. Cineplex Odeon included the definition for "Audience" which was something like "the people watching the movies". One of the managers at the time gave me the hardest time over that, and she suggested that I add "Movies: What the people watch." Which after being teased about 100 times, it started to sound like a good slogan. So the unofficial inside joke slogan of Cinema West for awhile was "Cinema West: What The People Watch!"
