http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/semiconductors/optoelectronics/the-leds-dark-secret

For those that are not IEEE members...August 2009 is a fantastic issue of the IEEE Spectrum (IEEE equivalent of the SMPTE Journal).

In this month's Spectrum... discussions of LED droop (darkening with higher currents) (link above), power saving with CPUs if reliable error tracking can be done, digital image manipulation (photoshopping).

The funniest thing on Amazon: the product page for this stupidly expensive Denon Cat-5 cable. The tags and customer comments are priceless.

Not sure if any of these have been posted before but I got a laugh out of them all.

I couldn't believe there was more than one of these on the market.

I was looking for a wagon for my son and ran across these. Can you say overkill? I'm just waiting for some hill jack to put an engine on one of these.

Man sues Bank America for $1,784,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

That's right, he demanded that they give him 1,784 billion, trillion dollars and even added an extra $200,164,000. As the article notes, this dwarfs the US GDP (meaning that he's suing for 29733333333 times the the entire economic output of the country).

Funny
