..course, we could meet in S.Jordan in Utah and head to Larry H. Miller's 17-plex and catch an "8/70" MegaSystems "Super Screen" show..(if they have one going...lol).

..or head on over to Mark's place and watch his VistaVision projector in action....

The Loews Jersey at least has received some fine projectors...the Norelcos from the K-B Cinema that originally were installed in the K-B Apex.

Now for hot set ups...the AFI/Silver is the best I've seen...though the Historic auditorium has acoustic issues.

Monte, that is a nice complex. Of course you have to join some kind of club to get a drink in that town [beer]

If the Mega isnt running film, it isn't because of the equipment. Most likely the limited number of large format titles for a multiplex to choose from. [Wink]

Daryl, I'm up for Lexington. I have family there too! I'm sure I could manage to get a few of us a damn good meal while in town. They live in Nicholasville...not too far at all.

While were at it, I'd also recommend coming here to South Bend and visiting the Browning Family Cinema at the DeBartolo PAC on the campus of Notre Dame. Just saw Ben-Hur there and it was simply breathtaking. Throughout the year, they will be showing classic and art films. Lawrence is coming up next week!

I'd say Chicago would be a pretty good place. Watseka isn't too far away or anything, but at least there would be something to do after the movie besides go to a crappy diner or something.

Last time I was at ND was about five years ago, when my daughter received her Masters in Education. When did the PAC open? Is is fully equipped for 70mm presentation?

In all the flyers and things I've read, it doesn't mention 70mm. It looks as though I'll be there a bunch this weekend though, and hopefully may get to talk with the projectionist. I'm seeing Hotel Rwanda Friday, Lawrence of Arabia Saturday, and a new 35mm print of the Toxic Avenger Sunday. The latter event is being presented by Lloyd Kaufman, writer/director of the film. The article in the paper said it is a fully restored 35mm print. Anyone know about it? This place, after my first visit, definitely does film RIGHT!

EDIT: The PAC just opened, I think in either the fall or winter of 2004. From the looks of things, it seems to be a hit with many! Check it out here.
