When I stay at hotels, I always turn the roll so it is under. I only do this to screw with the housekeeping people, because they always change it back and fold the corners of the top peice over to make it look pretty [Smile]

I keep my toothbrush in a glass on the floor next to the toilet. This way it usually stays moist. If it is a little crusty, then I found the best solution is to scrape the bristles on the holes under the rim of the toilet, then just swish it around inside the toiletbowl. This saves me time because I can do all this as I am bent down getting the brush. It also saves me money, because I don't waste water by using the faucet! And it also keeps the toilet clean and flowing very freely. If you try this, just one suggestion, don't use that crap that makes the water blue, I had a problem with my teeth getting stained!

The input about how to wash my hands and brush my teeth has been outstanding! And the toilet paper!!! Who knew???

When I stay in nice hotels I carefully remove that paper wrap they place around the toilet seat then replace it each day before I leave the room. I also fold the end of the TP roll. By the third day the maids are leaving complementary bottles of laxative along with the mints on my pillows. Sometimes I even get notes like, "Drink this, Lizard."*

And it's obvious some of yous have never lived with a cat that makes great sport out of unreeling TP onto the floor. Loading the TP emulsion out cures that one - no more TP Monsters. Spike has long since slipped the surly bonds, but in his memory I continue to load the TP emulsion out.

I'v always been a toilet paper over guy, but I tried for a while doing it under because I thought it might stop a toddler from emptying halh the roll onto the floor.
Unfortunately, the cats were the wiser and figured it out anyway.

I also agree the TP should go over.....but for me wet before soap on the hands and before toothpaste on the brush.

Because my toothbrush isn't stored in a sterilzed, vacuum sealed container. Fecal coliform can be found in lots of places, not just the toilet bowl.

I like Richard's approach on the subject though. If there's a good chance some fecal coliform is going to settle on the toothbrush -then just accept the situation with full bravado.

And besides, aren't Marines trained in boot camp to use toothbrushes to clean their latrines? Will have to ask Gunny Ermey 'bout that next time I sees him...

Paul, when I was in Basic Training, we had to clean the tile grout with "our" toothbrushes. But of course, we never used our own...we snuck the DI's and the barracks sergeant's toothbrushes for that chore... [beer] [Razz] [thumbsup]

Doesn't everybody do that? I do it for 2 reasons. The first is , as I mentioned earlier I try to conserve water. So I save a few gallons of water by not having to flush the toilet. Of course, I make sure I pee when I am busy washing my hair, because if I just stop and pee, then I'm wasting more water by running the shower faucet. The second reason is, this way I don't get any pee on my tooth brush [Smile]

Shit, I just realized this brings up another issue for me. In a shower that is in a full size bathtub, do I stand torward the drain or away? I must say it is rather warm if you face away from the drain and the pee has to drain between your toes to get to the drain! In square shower stalls, this isn't a problem because the drain is in the middle. On those it is kinda fun to just aim for one of the holes in the drain cover though!

Oh yeah, I never do this if the drain is clogged with hair and there ends up being standing water in the shower. That would just be sick [Big Grin]
