At pretty much every cinema I ever worked at, it was standard procedure for the last person to leave to do a 'walk around' of the entire building immediately before setting the alarm and locking up the building. If the staff found evidence to suggest that anyone had been wandering around the building when it was supposed to be empty, that should have prompted a full-scale investigation, including a top-to-toe search of the building. At one place I worked, I heard from friends a while after I left that the manager spent several weeks 'living' in the theatre's basement between flat rentals, unbeknown (he thought) to anyone except his girlfriend, who also worked there. If you're the manager and therefore have the door keys and burglar alarm code I suppose that's just about possible. But unless the person squatting in this Odeon was known to an employee there, this cinema was either very badly managed or the newspaper story contains serious errors. quote: Article posted by Tommie ...he never stole food. Hmmm, maybe he lived off the food (popcorn, drinks etc!) left in the screen over night. Most cinemas don't have alarm sensors in the screen itself, only on the doors. If your desperate, have no money and not supposed to be there it figures. Also he could have wondered around the cinema at night (suggesting he was eventually spotted on the CCTV system) depending on the alarm system, having access to the toilets etc in the public areas. Also there is no suggestion that he didn't move about during the day, being very elusive! We, quite literally, are above them. And for the record, jetBlue's A320 nose gear problem was a complete non-event, despite the hysterical live TV news coverage. Shoot, they didn't even grind their nose gear down as much as that United ship Daryl posted. There have been at least six reported occurances of stuck-sideways nose gears on Airbus A320's over the years. But I guess the ignorant, especially the media, have to make a big deal of it. Have to admit, the live TV pictures were great if one kept the sound muted. Lots of sparks to keep the kiddies entertained.
