First time I ran RHPS is in the fall of 1976 as a regular feature. No one ever heard of it and it lasted a week at our theatre due to small attendence figures. But it was definitely a different kind of film to present...and the music was definitely catchy to listen to. The film took just the following year to become a midnight show cult classic..and so it goes.... "Shock Treatment" was one of those 'we'll forget this movie right off' - Now the one that I wished would have also turned into a cult classic was "Phantom of the Paradise" - following on the same horror type story as did RHPS .. also released by 20th-FOX.  |  IP: Logged John Wilson Film God Posts: 5438 From: Sydney, Australia. Good music but shit story sank it before it set sail. That trailer tells it all...one song in the trailer? One manager I worked for insisted we run Shock first as he wanted intermission trade and he was sure everyone'd leave if we ran RHPS first. Probably wasn't too far wrong, although a sequel preceding and original in a double feature didn't go down too well with me.  |  IP: Logged Monte L Fullmer Film God Posts: 8367 From: Nampa, Idaho, USA Registered: Nov 2004 posted 05-15-2007 02:38 PM                     (...the many pounds of soaked rice from the "rain sequence" to clean up off the floor afterwards, the gobs of toast, finding a good dozen decks of playing cards, newspapers .... ) But the fun of it all was the character contests we would have before each wknd showing-prizes, gifts, free movie tickets..et.al. .. and I'd have a spotlight on all of the contestants that I would shine on them as they were announced... ..in all due to it all, I actually had tons of fun with RHPS.
