I can beat that for special effects. These look pretty ordinary now I guess, but they were pretty groundbreaking in 1979.

In honour of today's 30th Anniversary of Star Wars... here's Gene Shalit's Today Show interview with Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher from July of '77.

Note Gene's final comments about its expected success...how true they are.

[thumbsup] George, you may have mucked up the new ones, but there's no denying the original. Movies (for better or worse) changed forever on this day 30 years ago...you must be given credit where credit is due.
