The coverage by FOX News was/is laughable. At one point the "reporter" was interviewing the doctor who performed the autopsy. He made his statement, which was basically that there were no outward signs of any kind of foul play. Well hell, that's no story, so the "reporter" starting asking about each of Ms. Smith's major internal organs: "How did her heart look?" Presumably they went down a long list that might have included the spleen, kidneys, etc. I don't know because I changed the channel at that point. Anna Nicole Smith's public life was a spectacle and she made herself fair game for criticism. Now that she's dead and given the tragic last six months for her after the death of her son etc, what is the point in spitting on her? And none of us knows what was going on in her private life and that includes her relationship with the geezer, Howard K. Stern, her now-deceased son, and her infant daughter. Ooh, whoopie! Find any friggin' bachelor in the United States and examine the contents of his refrigerator. It's the whole Fight Club ethic happenin': "how embarrassing. a refrigerator full of condiments and no food." Whoopie doo. Who gives a rat's ass? There's a lot more important shit to report than this crap. Just this week, here in my town only a couple or so blocks away from where I live, we had a gang shootout in broad daylight. One guy was killed less than 100 yards away from Lawton High School. The shooter still remains at large despite a couple of his hommies being arrested. Residents of the city are on edge about the spike in gang violence in recent months, especially with a "south of the border" element adding to it lately. In the bigger scheme of things, this whole media fascination about the death of Anna-Nicole is a side show away from more important events.  |  IP: Logged Tony L. Heck I think we all ether lived thru it ourselves or had a parent, grandparent or sibling who did. My parents were thru it all. My grandparents (all born between 1901 and 1922) had a large part in my upbringing and from listening to them and looking at their things, I feel as tho the WWII and surrounding eras were as much a part of my life as it was in theirs and I was born in the 1980s. I even had an adoptive grandma who worked as a projectionist for the military in WWII. Hell, I feel more comfortable driving around listening to The Andrews Sisters than I do the garbage most people listen to these days. Conservatively speaking, I think it takes at least 80 years for historic events not to have a direct (key word there) impact on our lives. And I was thinking we should elect you, Frank, to start all further "such and one is dead" posts, including that Jane Fonda post, so you can inform us all what opinions we are allowed to have and not have and we just will not be allowed to post if we don't agree with you. For the record, if you think we should post positive feelings about Ms. Fonda when the time comes, I'll gladly partake But lets not go and kill Ms. Fonda or anyone else by talking any further about death posts. I turned on the TV in time for the local, 11:00 news on the CBS affiliate. They spent no less than FIFTEEN MINUTES on Anna Nicole Smith before talking about anything else! They even did man-on-the-street interviews, asking people at a local gas station to express their thoughts on her death. Apparently, her reality show on E! was such a hit that average people considered her to be a part of their lives. It was an eye-opener for me.
