She should have learned her lesson the first time! I'm always willing to give a person a second or third chance. A MILLION chances, even! But the sad truth is that kids like this who don't get straightened out early on will go on to be drunks and irresponsible drivers for the rest of their lives and they'll keep on repeating the behavior until they kill somebody. Like I said, fuck up your life if you want. Just don't fuck up somebody else's life! (I do well enough fucking up my own life, thank you! I don't need anybody's help! ) And, when you said the owner was an "adult" I assumed you meant he was 21 or 30, even, not 45! That's practically criminal right there! A man approaching middle-age, giving alcohol to kids then letting them drive?! How could a 14 year old girl get alcohol unless the "adult" (quotes intended) either gave it to her or was somehow complicit? That guy needs to spend some time in jail! I bet you $100.00, if you hired a detective to look into this guy's life, you'd find out he has a tendancy towards pedophilia! Why ELSE would a grown man fraternize with young girls and feed them alcohol and let them drive drunk in a car he knows isn't insured? He was trying to "gain her trust". (To put it nicely.) That girl obviously hasn't learned her lesson but the "adult" should certainly know better. He's used up his chances, AFIAC!  |  IP: Logged William T. I would press any and all charges you can personally through the police to hold the juvie deliquent and the adult with responsible. Glad your OK though. My car is always in "great" condition and has 24,700 miles. The engine doesn't appear damaged from what I can see, but I wouldn't be surprised if the frame was bent. quote: William T. I feel your pain and although this hasnt happened to me in many years, mainly because I live out in the weeds, I sure have sympathy.It adds to the hurt that some minor moron caused all this. Joe, I`m 85 years old and I`ve never seen so many zoo animals driving as there are now. Honda is one of the best at designing "crumple zones" in their vehicles. Very obviously did it's job well. I've been in 3 wrecks: two in my old Saab via deer (no airbags, walked away without a scratch). One 80mph with cruise control on rollover with no airbags. Just good ol' seatbelts that saved my family and I. Again, not a scratch on any of us, though we were super sore the next day. Just don't ask what the car looked like. The people who ran up to us to help us out thought someone had to have died, the car looked so bad. I FEAR airbags. I would rather not have them at all. Joe, I'm glad you didn't turn out like my friend. They even eject a mint as they deploy so you feel like you're in some super-upscale hotel. Anyway, the airbag deployment is what caused the abrasions on my knuckles, though I just tell people I punched someone so that they think I am tough. It smelled weird, perhaps a bit like gunpowder. The smell was gone from my car when I got in it in the tow yard as was the dust I saw floating in the air at the time of deployment. No burns or burning sensations (a friend of mine asked me the same thing). Also makes your eyes water and your nose run when you are exposed to it. It can be as poisonous as cyanide and cause chemical burns. You should get out of the car if you can if it is safe to do so as soon as possible after they go off. From what I understand it is also one of the chemicals used to make solid propellant rocket motors. The short answer: There's a bomb in your steering wheel. Starting in 1998, Honda started phasing out sodium azide with some kind of hydrazine derivative compound. I don't know much about it. People of exceptionally short or tall stature and children riding in the front seats run a higher risk of serious injury or death during airbag deployment.
