What insurance company do you use? That's great that they're offering pain-and-suffering compensation, especially when they know they won't be able to squeeze a dime out of the minor or the uninsured. The old rule of thumb for pain-and-suffering was double the hospital bill. It sounds like you got out pretty good, so maybe the bill wasn't that much. Unfortunately doctors do nothing for hard or soft tissue damage in the chest area other than giving pain meds because you'll get pneumonia if they restrict breathing. Seatbelts can break ribs and really chew up soft tissue and airbags can break wrists and bust knuckles, but its better than the closed head wounds or spinal cord damage that could occur. You not losing consciousness indicates that there was little impact on your brain, which we already know because your posts would have started sounding like Bobby's. [Razz] *rim shot*.

Do you feel any fear or similar emotion when you go through that intersection now? It took me a good six months to get over that part. That's what the lawyers really capitalize on when they sue - anything they can categorize as a permanent ailment. I suggest you wait until you are completely healed up (could be a year from now) before you settle anything. Lawyers are one of those professions that you rag on until you need one. Good luck.
