Just gone up to $1.10 a litre (4L to the gallon). Is this just in North and South Dakota? Here we have normal unleaded (95 RON) and super unleaded (98 RON). There is also 'Lead Replacement Petrol' (LRP), which is 98 RON but with a synthetic compound added for use in older cars which still have soft valve seats (lead in petrol is now illegal under European Union law). Normal unleaded is the equivalent of $1.15-20 per litre and Diesel around $1.20-25, while super and LRP are $1.30 plus. I don't know what proportion of petrol engined cars used super. I would guess it's quite small, because I certainly don't know anyone whose car needs it.  |  IP: Logged
