I've heard quite the opposite...the worldwide demand of diesel fuel has increased mainly as a result of growth in newly industrialized nations, without much of an increase in production to keep prices in check. At least that's what the claim was about a year ago. The price of 87 octane gasoline here in Lawton dropped to $1.74 per gallon at most stations. So anyone willing to make any predictions on how low it will go before it starts going up again? Registered: Dec 1999 posted 11-20-2008 06:58 PM                     Oil overnight went down to $48 a barrel. Not that long ago it was at $150+ per barrel! Over here that saving has been offset by a significant drop in the Aussie dollar. At our highest we got up to around $1.60 per litre. Even with that drop we are now only at $1.23 per litre. Although the other day I saw E10 (10% ethanol blend) for as low as $1.04 per litre. 2 days later it had gone up 18cents per litre. For some unknown reason, we have a weekly 'cycle' here. Price hits a high Wednesday midday and goes down to its lowest Tuesday then up it goes again.  |  IP: Logged Claude S.
