It appears that it was the basis for "Airplane." There were sooooo many similarities and parallels between the 2 films that I couldn't stop laughing. I kept envisioning the "Airplane" scenes and dialog. Many of the lines were exactly the same ...but sometimes with different meanings. Some of the scenes even have the same camera composition. "When can we land?" "I can't tell." "You can tell me...I'm a doctor." "I can't say for sure." "Can't you take a guess?" "Well....not for another two hours."
