I was introduced to the work of Tezuka Osamu by the head film curator at the Wexner Center for the Arts about a month ago. This is some of the best animation I've ever seen. BROKEN DOWN FILM is really good, but I would especially recommend LEGEND OF THE FOREST. This is not only an excellent animated work, it is also a complete history of animation from the very earliest days. It is absolutely brilliant. There is also a film called JUMPING that is a lot of fun. I don't think LEGEND OF THE FOREST is available on any of the free video sites, but there is a DVD titled THE AMAZING WORK OF TEZUKA OSAMU.
