It's a beautiful 1981 Delorean DMC-12. Completely stock with 8637 miles on it. It's been sitting for a while, so we're going to go through it with a fine toothed comb and replace the fuel system and all of the belts and hoses. Cleaned up pretty well. My wife took this photo in the driveway with her tablet. It's got a "tilt shift" thing going on that makes it look like a model car sitting in the driveway. All day Saturday and Sunday, me and my 14 year old son cleaned every square inch of this car, then rolled it into the garage to be stored away for the winter. (Yes.. way in the back of the garage are two Strong Platters and the 35mm projectors and lamphouses from the drive-in. I just couldn't bring myself to throw them away.) The interior of the car is absolutely flawless with the exception of a crack in the dash binacle (which you can't see in this picture)  |  IP: Logged Sam Graham AKA: "The Evil Sam Graham". You don't want to accidentally end up in 1957 and find a Drive-In theatre where your house is now... I almost bought one of these back in 1981 new from the dealer. I didn't because I was going thru my "convertible" period back then and felt it was too confining. It did not help that shortly after taking one for a test drive, I blew the doors off one on the Garden State Parkway driving my 10 year old Mustang Mach1. On the other hand, I still think it is one of the sharpest looking sports cars ever built. I've had both....I prefer the automatic and always have. But then I'm not the "burn-out" type of driver, usually at least! I think it's mostly because I do a lot of stop-n-go driving in this small town. Hardly ever get to do any freeway driving, so I got tired of constantly shifting all the time. Thus, as with sparkplugs and choice of oil used, it's all personal preference. In that same breath, I picked up this little number yesterday: 2014 Dodge Dart SE Rally. Six Speed Auto with the Manual-Matic transmission. Works good in doing engine breaking when needed. Got a good deal for a year end vehicle. Thing that is interesting with Dodge, now part of FIAT, is that they took this FIAT designed chassis and came out with this compact vehicle..including a motor, designed by Hyundai (almost looks like a Mitsu motor) and built in Michigan. The vehicle carries a 2.4L DOHV "TigerShark" motor (notice that I used the "V" instead of the "C") and let the You Tube video explain why below .. being the motor is called a "Multi-Air" motor. Multi Air Technology Instead of using the GDI (Gas Direct Injection) with setting the injectors to fire directly into the bores, this method does the hydraulic variable valve timing to do the same function. I would like to get a 2015 but News flying around that even Big Allocated Chevy Dealers are only going to get an eyedropper of Cars. One Texas Dealer already had 60 ZO6's orders with Bowling Green (that's over a 100,000 per car)and is getting snubbed... Another GM BS Tactic so they won't have to fill orders on Dealers that order a Base model which is still close to 80 grand. If the old antiquated ST.LOUIS Facility could build over 53,000 cars back in 79; than BG should have no trouble Filling orders. Right now they Build Cars at the rate of 7 per hour. I wish they would of protective wrapped the older vettes from the 60's to 80's like these are.
