"Great Expectations" in 1998.

I wish I had waited for about 4 weeks and could say "The Big Lebowski" instead.

It's hard to tell my first time, my Mum is the other Projectionist here and I use to sit up in the projection room since I was a toddler.

I'm referred to as the real 'cinema paradiso' by some staff members. As a kid, my mum trained me up on a Westrex 2001 projector with Westrex tower along with the very old school Westrex sound system (with Mag and Optical settings!)

I would say that the first film that my mum said "you can start it tonight" was something in the mid to late 1990s - probably Titanic (of which we had to have an intermission in!).

Those were the days, where our sound system was taped together - our 'Surround' system vibrated and just a single speaker behind the screen!

Now it's the other way round, I'm training my Mum on the digital system we have in place.

Together we have about 30 years of film projection experience.

I don't remember the first movie I ran on my own, however I do remember scratching the hell out of "College" on my first training shift. (The multiplex I used to work at didn't take film training slowly... something I corrected while I was there and had to train others.)
