Since there is no way Dolby has permitted to run the SR or digital tracks without surround or sub, 01 it is! Just about everyone I know with CP650s uses the 01 button (not re-programmed, but running true mono) for their trailers. Most if not all agreed they would rather have the SR noise reduction or play off of the digital track, but all agree if Dolby won't provide the option, screw it. More recently I have found a way around the issue for those who for whatever reason just HAVE to run with SR noise reduction or off of the digital tracks. Assuming you have QSC amps, you can short pin 2 (I think it is pin 2...typing this from memory) to ground to put the amp into standby mode. Standby mode = no audio Voila problem solved! I even was able to persuade the wonderful Sam at QSC to manufacture little connectors to go onto the end of the dataport cables to provide a termination point, rather than cut into the cables, to resolve this very issue. It has an official part number now, but I would have to look it up. (Sam can tell you.) We (Film-Tech) are using the infinitely flexible and far superior sounding BASIS systems for 99% of our audio processing needs with digital cinema, but for that remaining 1% where we tied into CP650s, the QSC connectors work like a champ to kill those surrounds and subwoofers for digital cinema installations. Just get one for each amp you want turned off and daisy chain them. to stupid trailer mixing and levels!  |  IP: Logged Manny Montes Master Film Handler Posts: 270 From: United States Registered: Feb 2010 posted 07-12-2010 05:18 AM                     All trailers at my plex run in SR and lower than the feature, haven't had a complaint yet about trailers being too quiet. Our box office results have been terrific, public response highly favourable, and the distributor BVI reports that our box office results have been impressive beating a big number of major multiplexes across the nation, not bad for a single screen opposite a major multipex.
