Despite denying it, would still memorize when a reel with nudity came up, even if it meant walking across the multiplex.

you remember actual release dates ... even from decades ago.

...somebody asks you how long a movie is, and you say "120 minutes" instead of two hours.

...even though it happens almost every year, you always seem to be the only person in the room who realizes that movies are actually released ON Christmas day.

...when you spend 4 hours explaining to your girlfriend that a 'reel' is 10 minutes long and a 'spool' is anything larger.

When you spend many more hours trying to justify why you need a huge 35mm projector in the house, and no a DVD player wouldn't be the same thing [Frown]

She's kinda right, it's the same thing. But I like my toys. Loud. Leaky. Huge. Toys.

At Telluride Film Festival the techs are known as members of the Carl Brenkert Society.

When you see 3rd class booth personnel who really don't care on any form of techniques, train others on how to run projectors and let them run solo after two days and they expect the ones whom they trained to know everything..

..and there is nothing that you can do about it without stepping on any toes...you just have to look and walk away and feel sorry for the patrons who spent their big bucks on crappy presentations.

...Why I'm really beginning to like digital...

(Gee, I should retire and do a newspaper deliver route at nights...)
