In 23 years in the business (all hard-tops, no drive-in experience), I think I have seen pretty much everything. I once took over a theatre where the previous manager had kept a cot behind the screen for liasions with both employees and patrons. My two favorite personal stories that I witnessed were:
1.) My old theatre had the aisles with seating on either side. This meant that the back corners of the last rows were "protected" areas. What patrons didn't realize was that our projection booth had an opening window directly above the prime spots in both theatres. One night I looked down and there was a woman who was on her guys lap (she was facing away from the screen and towards the back wall) and riding him. At one point she leaned her head back and as she did she saw me looking down at them and grinning. After a second, she winked at me and kept doing. She didn't tell her boyfriend and I called other some of the other staff members up. She gave us a full show.
2.) When I was still a concessionist, we got 4/1 hotdogs for the first time. We had the old rotating prong style hotdog cooker and we put them on the prongs lengthwise, just as we had the 10/1 hotdogs. The problem was that the tip of the big dogs would brush against the bottom of the cooker and leave a white residue behind. On afternoon, a lady in her 30s came in by herself. When she walked past the cooker, she stopped and stared at it for a little while, blushed and then went into the theatre. A few minutes later she came out and came over to the stand. I asked her what she wanted and she said she wanted a hot dog. I asked her of she wanted mustard or catsup on it and she said she just wanted a hot dog. I shrugged, grabbed a hot dog bag, started to pick up a bun with the tongs and she said, no, she JUST wanted a hot dog. I looked at the others of us who were in the stand, shrugged again, put her hot dog in the bag and took her money. She promptly went into the women's restoom and did not come out again for about 10 minutes. We were all agast, granted, we don't know for sure what, if anything, she did in there, but when I started singing "Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Meyer Weiner" all of us started laughing out loud. When she left the rest room, she did not look at us in the stand, and walked straight into the theatre... without her hot dog.
Jeez, I loved being in the business in the late 70s - early 80s, with real midnites and less of society telling everyone how to behave. It was a lot of fun in those days, especially in a college town two-screen theatre.

That is an unlikely story. When you get old enough to have sex yourself, you will find out that a cooked hot dog does not have the right...consistency for that kind of use.
